Growing up, I always imagined my career would be an expression of my values, and something important for humanity. I was idealistic. I still am.
Early on, I discovered an interest in physics (I can be an abstract guy). I specialized in the field particle physics. By the end of college, I became disillusioned with physics as a career path. It seemed unlikely that the abstract theories I had studied could positively impact the lives of people. Instead of gaining clarity, it seemed that things were becoming ever more complicated and lacked real-world application.
Still idealistic, I decided to make a change.
It was the 90’s. Like many eager young wanna-be world-changers and entrepreneurs, I followed a career path into banking.
Banking was good to me, but I was restless. I was growing increasingly concerned about global warming, and the can’t-be-disregarded existential risk it poses. In 2009, seeing an opportunity to apply my experience in consumer banking to make a difference - I started Ad Energy as a solar financing company.
After a few years of helping finance solar energy projects, I realized that Ad Energy could have a more important and more direct impact on the industry by installing solar rather than simply financing it. It also turned out to be more fun!. I was committed to bringing a level of professionalism and efficiency typical of larger companies to the solar installation industry, making it easy and painless for every homeowner to go solar.
I think we’ve mainly achieved that goal, though I constantly strive to do better and to be better every day. I’m proudly still idealistic.
Today, through the efforts of my amazing team, we lead our industry through the following 4 areas of focus:
It is my hope that you will consider switching to solar. It is a great decision which will save you money and it’s a great step towards saving the planet.
Myself, and the entire team at Ad Energy would love the opportunity to help you.
